Turn It Off

This week kind of started off rough with these thoughts. When I came into work a co-worker sent me an e-mail and said, "I don't know what this means, and it might sound weird, but for some reason God put it on my heart to share this passage with you: "Be still and know that I am God". This verse from Psalm 46 was far from weird considering how my week was starting off. This is God showing up. He knows exactly what I needed. It was like He was saying "Hey! Snap out of it, I got this!". I have thought about this verse and other scripture this week. This Psalm is talking about protection from enemies during battle but, I believe this passage also talks about the battles that we fight in our mind when we are trying to overcome those thoughts and doubts. We really just need to give it to God, no matter what the situation. What situation can our God not handle? My friends, there is nothing that He cannot do! #WHATAP While meditating on this scripture I was also reminded of other promises that we can rest on.

Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 100:3 Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

And one of my favorite passages when I get anxious or worry,

Matthew 6:25-34 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[a] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

I want to encourage you today by saying that if God is not a priority in your life or if you have not taken your next steps to have a relationship with Him, today would be a most excellent day to turn it all over to Him. He loves you. If He is already the Lord of your life, turn your worry and anxiety over to Him. He loves His creation (earth, sea, stars, animals, birds, and planets) but He loves us more! Friends, have a great week and may God take over your worries and anxieties.
