And God Showed Up

I love the words in Psalm 103. There are so many reminders and truths in there. A couple verses that stood out to me as I was looking at it again was verse 2, that reminds us "to not forget all his benefits" and verse 10 that reminds us that "God does not deal with us according to our sin or iniquities". It is good that God is merciful. Wouldn't it be great if we could be as merciful to one another?

I journal occasionally so that I can look back and see what God has done. Lately, I have been focused on prayer and praise. As I was driving to and from work yesterday, I was thinking about all the good things that God has done in my life. Although I am dealing with the aftermath of problems that have occurred because of a malfunctioning immune system, I was clearly reminded of the good things that God has done.

As the days have went by I have written down my bad days and I have also written down the days that I have had miraculous recovery. In my past posts I have focused a lot on praying for those that need God to do the impossible. I have had some very good response from those posts and I will continue to pray that God will do the impossible for you. But today, I want you to look back and see how God is working toward your impossible. It helps to write things down if you are struggling to remember. Thank Him for all that He has done up to this point in time. Thank Him for other people's impossible situations that you have seen Him answer. When you see how God is working, it will be easier to focus on praying and seeking God to do the impossible. I would love for you to share those moments with me and others to encourage them to pray for the impossible. I want to take a moment to share some times that God has shown up in a big way and it encourages me to keep praying and seeking the impossible.

  • A brother in Christ had an ankle that caused him pain for years, when the pastor starting talking about how God heals, God showed up and my brother no longer had pain or problems with His ankle.

  • Another brother in Christ was close to leaving us on this earth because of a lung disease and his lungs were failing Him. Many prayed for God to do the impossible, God showed up with new lungs and my brother is still with us today!

  • My grandmother prayed for God to direct her to the right doctors to fix a defect with her heart that she did not know that she had until last year. God showed up, gave her the right doctors, and fixed her heart with better than expected results. I will never forget my grandfather, leaning over her when she was back in her room and he whispered to her "this is exactly what we prayed for".

  • Another Sister in Christ that I know was confronted with a man that had been unable to see for a long time. When she was obedient and prayed with the gentlemen, he opened his eyes and exclaimed that he could see!

You may be reading this post and you struggle with doubting or thinking you don't deserve God's goodness. It is easy for Satan to creep in and remind you of all of the bad things you have done or times that you were not on a path that was all about God. Satan may say things like "you expect God to do anything for you, look at what you have done.", "You can't even follow one set of directions in the Bible, why would God do anything for you?", "You don't even talk to God, why would He even give you the time of day?", "Why would God heal you?". The list goes on. God really does care and He wants to have a relationship with you. It doesn't matter about your current situation or your past, He is ready to dish out mercy. He wants to help you.

If you have seen God do the impossible or if God has done the impossible for you, share your story. Use the opportunity to encourage someone today. I want to encourage you to take the opportunity each day to tell people how God showed up. Seize each moment and look for ways that God shows up each day for you.

He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen. - Deuteronomy 10:21
